A Gringa en Panama
Many different peoples have come to Panama for many different reasons: gold, transit, jobs. Some came as slaves. And many different peoples have made this their home. This struck me as i walked the streets of Panama City, my "home" for a month. The vast diversity of peoples. And it goes way beyond the mestizo and afro-carib typical in central america. It's chinese and indian and indigenous and white, too.
But these are just the observations of a gringa. I've been here 3 weeks now and want to take my final week to capture some thoughts while they are still fresh. There is still lots more to see of Panama and certainly will have to continue my adventures in another trip, but i've gotten to soak up quite a bit as well.
jungles, diablos-rojos, birds and more birds, cheap taxis, ropas viejo, ships, beaches, the canal, sancocho, seco and more!!
